The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) established its quality management policy along the lines of the Excellence Model established by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
The EFQM Excellence Model is based on the premise that a greater impact on performance, clients, staff and society may be achieved if managers are able to mobilise staff, partners, resources and processes around the implementation of policies and strategies. Self-assessment is considered to be vitally important with this approach. The EFQM Excellence Model has become firmly established in Switzerland's Higher Education Landscape.
The quality management system includes all of SFIVET's divisions (Basic Training Division, Continuing Training Division, R&D Division, General Secretariat/Resources Management Division).
