One aim of the Federal Vocational and Professional Education and Training Act (SR 412.10) is to enable the largest possible number of people to gain a suitable upper secondary-level VET qualification. In this regard, special support is required for learners who have difficulties with the ordinary forms of VET programmes.
The term "Integration measures" refers to all efforts made to help students with learning difficulties to successfully complete their VET programme.
The pedagogical, didactic, psychological and social questions that arise in the context of the two-year, three-year and four-year VET programmes are the subject of research projects, development projects, basic training courses and continuing training courses.
Issues include migration, interculturalism, violence, gender and transitions (e.g. from lower-secondary to upper-secondary, school-to-work).
SFIVET's R&D Division provides advisory and development services relating to integration measures. It also provides up-to-date continuing training courses.
SFIVET's R&D Division helps to raise the level of basic and continuing training of VET and PET professionals in the area of integration measures. These include training courses on pedagogical support measures and new courses on how to provide individual guidance and coaching. Continuing training courses in this area cover a wide range of areas (e.g. mediation, conflict management, development psychology, handling heterogeneity, etc).
