Project Description
The cumulative dissertation comprises a number of articles on vocational education-related topics.
Firstly, the determining factors of the willingness of companies to provide VET apprenticeships and the development of company-based training are explored using data from the 1985-2008 Federal Business Census (FBC). Secondly, the TREE (Transition from Education to Employment) dataset is used as a basis for analysing various topics centred around the transition from compulsory education to a VET apprenticeship (transition 1 threshold). The study also seeks to identify the determining factors and salary consequences of occupational mobility during the transition from the VET apprenticeship to the labour market
(transition 2 threshold).
Method
Empirical/quantitative, use of various multivariate econometric methods to analyse cross-sectional and panel datasets
