The Vocational and Professional Education and Training Act (VPETA, SR 412.10), which came into force in 2004, requires all VET programmes to be regulated by a corresponding VET ordinance and training plan. All persons involved in the planning and execution of VET programmes must adhere to these VET ordinances and training plans. They are also required to identify new challenges and represent VET ideas.
Acting on behalf of the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (OPET), the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) provides assistance to professional organisations working to introduce VET ordinances and training plans.
