VET occupations will now be handled differently.
SFIVET is currently working to facilitate the development and implementation of many new VET ordinances and training plans. SFIVET helps the various VET reform committees to: define and position their occupation; describe the competencies required of qualified workers in each occupation; set education and training objectives; establish the structure and sequencing of VET content; decide on the duration of VET programmes; and develop corresponding qualification procedures.
The Federal Act of 13 December 2002 on Vocational and Professional Education and Training (SR 412.10), which came into effect on 1 January 2004, requires all VET programmes to be linked to a corresponding VET ordinance and training plan. Everyone involved in Switzerland’s upper-secondary level VET sector is required to implement these VET ordinances and training plans, adopt the new requirements and represent VET ideas.
Acting on behalf of the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (OPET), SFIVET also helps professional organisations to implement new VET ordinances and training plans.
